FAQ

What is Tomonotomo?

Tomonotomo is an all natural, non-alcoholic distilled agave spirit made in Oaxaca, Mexico.

What is Tobala agave?

There are many different species of agave, and each one can produce a mezcal with a distinct flavor profile. Tobala, for instance, is a specific type of maguey (or agave) used to make a particularly aromatic and flavorful mezcal.

Wild maguey, like Tobala, grows naturally in the wild without human intervention. These plants are often found in hard-to-reach areas and can take many years to mature, which contributes to the high cost of mezcals made from wild maguey.

We specifically chose to use Tobala because it contains less sugar than other types of agave, making it easier to control the level of alcohol it produces.

Is Tomonotomo a mezcal?

Tomonotomo is not a mezcal because a mezcal by definition is alcoholic, but is inspired by the process and follows similar techniques. The agave is roasted and distilled the same way as a mezcal, but is infused with 15 botanicals and smoked pineapple to emulate the taste and aroma of mezcal.

How do I drink Tomonotomo?

It is best to drink with a cocktail mix, however, you can also enjoy it neat, over ice, or even with an existing alcoholic cocktail to bring down the alcohol content and enjoy the complexity of the spirit.

Does Tomonotomo contain alcohol?

Tomonotomo is a <0.5% ABV distilled non-alcoholic spirit, containing less alcohol than a ripe banana, for reference.

Can I drink Tomonotomo if I'm pregnant or on antibiotics?

Please check with your doctor if you have questions or concerns about drinking Tomonotomo.

Is Tomonotomo vegan?

Yes!

What does Tomonotomo mean?

Tomonotomo is Spanish for, "I drink, I don't drink," giving you the freedom to enjoy this delicious distilled spirit in any way you want - whether you want to enjoy it alone, in a cocktail, or accompanied with alcohol, the choice is yours. Tomonotomo stands for the spirit of Choice.

How is Tomonotomo different from other non-alcoholic spirits?

Tomonotomo is the only non-alcoholic spirit made following the same authentic ingredients and processes as mezcal. Tomonotomo is handcrafted with espadin and tobala agave harvested and distilled in Oaxaca, Mexico.

How is Tomonotomo made?

Tomonotomo follows a similar approach to mezcal. The agave is roasted like a traditional mezcal, fermented and distilled in copper stills along with botanicals of 15 ingredients local to Oaxaca. It is then mixed with a smoked pineapple agave inulin reduction to provide an alcohol-free, preservative-free, all natural non-alcoholic distilled agave spirit.
